Chairo Nekoshi, also known by the moniker The Tranquil Tiger, is an imposing man in both stature and reputation. His origins are shrouded in mystery. As the half-Auspice son of the Tiger Lord, he is blessed with superhuman strength and agility.Taken from his home in Doma by the Ruby Sea slavers as a child, he was sold to a wealthy Hingan shipwright and forced into hard labor. One day, while a nobleman was inspecting the progress on his private yacht, he witnessed Chairo’s hidden power firsthand—watching in awe as the young man singlehandedly pushed the massive ship off the drydock and into the harbor. Enamored and intrigued by his strength, the Hingan lord purchased Chairo and had him trained in the Tiger Lotus style of martial arts, favored by the militarized clans of the Bakufu.Chairo soon became a prized fighter in Hingashi’s underground combat arenas. He fought relentlessly, and many men fell to his claws. As the years passed, his matches became fewer and fewer, until eventually, there was no one left willing to challenge him. Left to rot in his quarters, he finally resolved to escape his horrific life. Using his connections with the wealthy shipwright, he secured passage to Ul’dah, where he spent years adventuring, learning patience, and mastering control over his power.With all he had learned, he created The Tranquil Tiger — a sanctuary where the weary could find solace, and where all, regardless of birth or status, could feel a true sense of belonging.

Neko’sae was a small, timid boy who grew up amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Old Sharlayan. Quiet and reserved, he preferred to observe rather than speak, always careful to stay out of trouble. However, curiosity and a longing for adventure stirred within him, pushing him beyond the familiar shores of his homeland. One day, he set sail into the unknown, arriving in Limsa Lominsa at the age of 18, ready to carve out a new path for himself.To survive in this unfamiliar land, Neko’sae took on work at various venues, blending into the vibrant yet unpredictable nightlife of Eorzea. It was during this time that he met Chairo Nekoshi, a towering figure of both strength and wisdom. Their connection was immediate — Chairo’s quiet discipline complemented Neko’sae’s reserved nature, while Neko’sae’s presence became a source of stability for the warrior still learning to temper his power. What began as friendship quickly grew into an unbreakable bond, one forged through mutual understanding and shared ambition.Together, they founded The Tranquil Tiger, a bathhouse and club designed to balance serenity and excitement. Chairo Nekoshi and Neko’sae Ashai, the establishment’s co-owners, saw her potential early on, and despite her frequent clashes with Chairo, they entrusted her with its future—promoting her to General Manager, where she transformed The Tranquil Tiger into a thriving sanctuary for all who sought refuge within its walls.Mia and Chairo became like siblings—constantly at each other’s throats, their strong personalities clashing in heated debates and razor-sharp banter. Yet, beneath the verbal sparring lay a foundation of unwavering respect. Neko’sae often played the role of mediator between them, his calm presence balancing their fiery tempers. Though their approaches differed, all three shared the same passion: to ensure The Tranquil Tiger remained a place of solace, indulgence, and security for all who entered.Among those who flourished under Mia’s leadership was Sylvie, a petite but sturdy and headstrong Hyur woman who rose through the ranks from bartender to Bar and Event Manager. Through charisma and skill, she earned her promotion, becoming an integral part of the establishment. Where Mia found herself locked in battles of will with Chairo, she found in Sylvie an unshakable ally—a sister in all but blood. Bar Manager

Sylvie Arda had initially set out years prior in search of what she considered the perfect drink, wandering from establishment to establishment as bartender and patron, seeking both knowledge and experience to hone her craft. The Hyur's stop at the Tranquil Tiger was originally meant to be another short chapter in her journey, another place to rest her feet for a while, but what she found instead was a place she would soon come to call home.Under her watchful eye and quick tongue, the bar at the Tranquil Tiger became a cornerstone of the establishment, an oasis where the cups were never empty, and anyone searching for a drink was always welcome. Her steadfast reliability and quick tongue drew Mia's gaze. Under her recommendation, she rose from being a bartender to a manager overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bar. Hesitant at first, Sylvie quickly adapted to her new position, ensuring that the Tranquil Tiger flourished under the vision of both Chairo and Nekosae. In them, she saw a shared vision of a sanctuary where anyone was welcome and passion and indulgence flowed like wine. In Mia, she found a resolute ally with whom she experienced both hardship and joy, and the Hyur rapidly came to regard the sharp-witted woman as a sister with whom she shared a bond cast and forged in all but blood.Under their four sets of watchful eyes and nurturing hands, the Tranquil Tiger transformed from a business into a community pillar. Finally, having found home, Sylvie continues to help grow the Tranquil Tiger into the best version of itself, still waiting patiently for the day when her hands may craft the Vitrum dei, and she may put her years-long quest to rest.

Arlo Nabaat

Arlo spent his days toiling in his brother’s forge, repairing weapons and armor, the monotony of the work wearing on him. One evening, a tall, feline-eared man stepped into the workshop, his golden eyes scanning the shop with quiet intensity. He placed a chipped, foreign-looking dagger on the counter, requesting it be reforged—strong enough to last. Arlo agreed, intrigued by both the weapon and its owner.As Arlo examined the blade, the stranger spoke cryptically about steel being tempered in fire, drawing a parallel to people shaped by hardship. Arlo, understanding the weight of those words, responded in kind. There was a moment of unspoken recognition between them, an understanding forged through experience rather than words.Satisfied, the man — Chairo Nekoshi — paid for the work but left Arlo with an offer: if he ever tired of crafting for those who didn’t appreciate the art, he should seek out The Tranquil Tiger. It was more than a club, Chairo explained—it was a sanctuary, a place where people were more than the battles they fought. He suggested a side gig, something beyond the forge.As Chairo vanished into the Ul’dahn night, Arlo found himself lingering on his words. He turned back to the forge, hammering steel with a newfound sense of curiosity. He didn’t yet know it, but this meeting had set him on a path that would one day lead him to The Tranquil Tiger — not just as a blacksmith, but as something more.

Kuva

Bartender

Being a prolific ecologist in service to the Sharlayan Studium, Kuva is sent to many exotic places in Eorzea and lands beyond. During his trips, he investigates mysterious reports about animal sightings, either new species or those that were thought to be long extinct and has a special fondness for fish. Of course, he’s always on the lookout for rare plants and exotic herbs to use as ingredients, so these long walks through dark jungle are usually quite fruitful for him. During one scheduled voyage back home from Kugane, rumors of a mysterious stranger being smuggled on board became the talk of the crew shortly after departing. Of course, being nosey for a living, Kuva endeavored to find out about what this stowaway was all about. That’s when he met Chairo, quietly sitting in the cabins below deck and fresh out of his captivity in Kugane. Kuva didn’t say much at first, thinking it better to offer something than to milk a story out of him, and shared a bit of his rum with the man. It was only watered down a little and even had an experimental ingredient from his last excursion: a bit of Poison Dyefrog toxin, which he found to be safe in small quantities and awfully invigorating. The small gesture would later lead to bigger things for Kuva, receiving a message from an old acquaintance one day about working for him. He happily accepted and is currently serving as the resident bartender of Tranquil Tiger.
